| MediaLink is a bi-directional interactive communication system. Utilizing standard network technology, MediaLink can connect two locations: |
On a local area network (typically within a single building) |
On a wide area network (typically within a single organization) |
Anywhere in the world over the Internet |
| Originally created to provide bi-directional audio and video communications in hospital rooms, MediaLink is ideally suited for applications where controlling the environments is just not an option.
MediaLink is unique in that it has been specifically designed to be easy to deploy, convenient to use, and highly adaptable to the client environment. MediaLink servers are true network appliances. DSP- rather than PC-based, MediaLink servers are: |
Quicker to startup |
More resistant to viruses and hacking and thus safer to run |
Run cooler and can be packaged in convenient fan free enclosures |
| MediaLink has many uses including...
Telemedicine |
Video conferencing |
Remote inspection |
MediaLink servers appear on the network as a single IP address at a single port location. Sub channel management for the various streams and controls is handled entirely by the MedialLink firmware. Network administrators track one and only one address for each MediaLink location. The one-to-one relationship of servers to locations significantly reduces administrator workload in MediaLink deployments.

| Bi-directional communication is by its nature equipment intensive requiring lots of pieces like microphones, loud speakers, monitors, cameras, power supplies, and many wires. MediaLink addresses these issues both by powering peripherals from the server and by integrating the cabling wherever possible. MediaLink units can be deployed by any IT staff capable of running Cat-5 cable. |
| It's one thing to hold a teleconferencing session in a quiet board room, it's quite another to run a conference in a busy factory. MediaLink was designed from the onset to accommodate marginal environments of all types. Our servers capture video at a wide range of resolutions, frame rates, and compression levels all independently configurable to take advantage of whatever the available network bandwidth happens to offer. Providing automatic gain control, frequency shaping and active echo cancellation, MediaLink servers are fully configurable and can operate in almost any audio environment. |
| MediaLink includes a comprehensive applicaiton but you can build your own applications using our .NET SDK. Or, have STI create a custom application on a fee for service basis. MediaLink servers were designed and continue to be deployed where a teleconferencing solution is just not enough. |
